Anson McMahon - Emmaus Church

I'm going to be interview Anson McMahon tonight during our worship gathering. Anson is the planting pastor of a new Acts 29 church in Buford. I'll let him tell you more about the church and how you can be praying:

Emmaus Church is a Gospel-Centered body of believers in Buford, Georgia.
As part of the Acts 29 Network of Churches (www.acts29network.org) we believe that our mission has been clearly communicated by our Lord Jesus when He commanded, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
It is our belief that every member of Christ’s church, in obedience to this Great Commission, should view his/herself as a missionary for Jesus Christ in his/her current context (culture, neighborhood, workplace, school, city, team, club, etc). We should exist for the magnificent purpose of knowing Christ intimately and making Him known to others. In short-we have been rescued by our Savior, Jesus, so that others might be rescued!
We exist to glorify God through the preaching of His Word (2 Timothy 4:1-5), the praise and worship of His good and holy name (John 4:23-24), the loving service of our community (John 15:13), the planting of more Gospel-Centered churches both here and abroad (Matthew 28:18-20), and the training and equipping of His followers that we might be a multitude of worshipers on a distinct mission to make Christ known (Ephesians 4:11-12).
For more detailed information on Emmaus Church and how you can join us as we live our lives on mission for Jesus Christ please email Pastor Anson McMahon at Anson@emmausbible.org or call us at 678-736-0810.
The people of Emmaus Church ask for your prayers in the following areas:

  • Provision as we raise funds over the next few months. These dollars will be used to fund the rental of meeting space when we launch, strategic hospitality gatherings for our neighbors who don’t know Christ, purchasing children’s ministry resources, purchasing discipleship materials, basic A/V equipment & signage for our public launch of Emmaus Church, etc.
  • That the Lord Jesus will give us favor with our neighbors as we develop intentional relationships with them in hopes that the gospel will transform their hearts.
  • Wisdom as we seek to allow Jesus to build His church without us allowing pride, arrogance, “not-invented-here syndrome”, or any other sin to get in the way of what He wants to do with Emmaus Church.
  • That the Lord will establish a committed Core Group over the next few months who are willing to live as a gospel-community who have been called by God, saved by Christ, filled by the Holy Spirit, and placed on a mission for the glory of Jesus to reach our community in the Buford (Gwinnett) area
  • That the gospel will be the reason we do everything we do as Emmaus Church because true power is found in the gospel.
