Happy New Year - Christ Community!
We hope you already know this, but we are not gathering this morning like we typically do (If you didn't, you can subscribe for our weekly newsletter here). Our gatherings take significant input from volunteers (like many of you) and since so many of our people are out of town over holiday weekends like this one, we thought it would be best to take this Sunday off.
But, we've put a few things together to help you start off 2017. Take a few minutes to check out the information below about our bible reading plan and our new sermon series coming in 2017.
2017 Bible Reading Plan:
At Christ Community we want everything we do to be shaped and informed by our God who speaks to us and who primarily does so through his word. In 2017, we want to challenge each other to read the bible at least 4 times a week as we use a reading plan that will take us through the book of Psalms. We believe something significant happens when we go to the bible seeking to hear from and learn about God, especially when we do that together as a church. Start week 1 of the reading plan today!
New Sermon Series:
Starting Sunday - Jan. 8 we will kick off a new sermon series called Infinitely More: Praying Big Prayers To An Even Bigger God. We are going to be considering and praying together for God to do "far more abundantly than all we can ask or think" (Eph. 3) in our church, in the city of Athens, and around the world. Check out the video below of Matt explaining his hopes for our new sermon series and for our church in 2017.
Since we won't be together this morning to sing and be reminded of who our God is and all that he has done for us, we put together a playlist for you to enjoy. We hope you have a great weekend, a Happy New Year, and we can wait see you all on January 8th!
