From our lead pastor, Matt Adair.
This morning, I sent the following note to all of the members of Christ Community Church:
Beginning Sunday, September 18th, we will be hosting two worship gatherings at the 130 Foundry Street building - at 10am and 12pm.
If you’ve been at our gathering the past two weeks, you know that we’re out of room and since our attendance historically grows throughout the fall semester, the elders believe that it would be in our best interest to go ahead and make this move now.
For me, it comes down to this. We want to make sure there’s room for the next person to walk in our doors and have the opportunity to become part of our family and follow Jesus. If we stay in one gathering, we might be able to squeeze in another 20 people. Maybe. Creating an additional gathering makes it possible for us to serve at least 300 more people than we can if we stay in one gathering.
So we’ll continue to meet at 10:30 on September 4 and September 11 before moving to two gatherings at 10am and 12pm on September 18.
We’ll address questions about what this means for our nurseries and children’s worship later this week, and we’ll be asking you to pitch in and volunteer to serve if you’re not already doing that. And more than anything else, please continue to pray for a movement of God’s spirit in our gatherings that results in gospel regeneration for unbelievers, gospel renewal for believers and gospel revival in our city.
I hope you’re as excited as we are in watching God provide us with this new opportunity - we’re receiving it as a gift of his grace that he intends to be used for his glory.
